Ham and Cheese Rolls

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 1/4  cup milk
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • cooked ham, cut in 1″ squares
  •  Melted butter

Combine 2 cups of the flour and the package of yeast. Heat milk, shortening, sugar and salt to 115 degrees-stirring constantly until shortening almost melts. Add to flour and yeast. Add egg. Beat on low 30 seconds, then on high 3 min. 

Add remaining flour, knead 5 min. Let rise till double then punch down.Let rise 10 mins. Divide into 23-25 portions. Flatten each into a circle. Put cheese between ham. Shape into rolls,pinching so that the ham and cheese are sealed inside. Dip in melted butter then top with

  • 1/3 cup grated cheese
  • 3 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes

 

Place on greased sheet, pinched side down. Let rise till double. Double at 375 degrees until browned. (About 15-18 minutes)
